Much to my surprise (and the dismay of some) I’ve managed to make it midway through my 51st year. Most of this was accomplished purely by accident, a little dumb luck and, I suspect, an abundance of Grace. Only recently (again by accident) I began learning that you can actually plan and live your life on purpose. This is way more effective than just swinging at whatever pitch comes across the plate! And so I have determined to intentionally learn all the things I wish I’d known back then. Growing up in public has been painful, sometimes embarrassing and usually expensive, but I wouldn’t trade the journey for anything. My posts here will be an attempt to share the lessons learned in a way that will help some other “old dogs” learn some new tricks, and maybe teach some “young dogs” a few old tricks!
